About Us

It is a great honour for the IIM Hyderabad Chapter in association with all the esteemed co-organizers to host the 76th Annual Technical Meeting (ATM) of Indian Institute of Metals (IIM – ATM 2022) and the International Symposium on “Accelerated Materials Development and Additive Manufacturing: Scientific and Technological Perspectives (AMDAM)” at Hyderabad, Telangana from 13 – 16th November, 2022.

ATM is an annual flagship event of the IIM where metallurgists and materials scientists / engineers from all over the country, representing all the main sectors of industry, academia and R&D institutions, participate for exchanging their ideas, knowledge and experience. The Annual Technical Meeting to be held during November 14–16th, 2022 will encompass a broad spectrum of topics pertaining to advanced materials and processes, conventional ferrous and non-ferrous metals, characterization of materials etc. The IIM Awards Ceremony will also be held on 14th Nov., 2022.

The symposia will also deliberate on contemporary topics of relevance such as green manufacturing, strategic and rare metals, additive manufacturing and accelerated development of materials. About 15-20 theme symposia are being planned to cover the complete bandwidth of the topics of interest to the entire materials research community and industries. In addition, an international symposium with focus on two contemporary topics viz. ‘Accelerated Materials Development’ and ‘Additive Manufacturing’ is being planned on 13th November, 2022. This symposium, where eminent internationally renowned speakers will be delivering Plenary Lectures, will be held in hybrid mode to enable maximum participation.

The conference will also host a Panel Discussion on “Strategic Material Security – Technological & Geopolitical Perspective”, where distinguished panelists will offer their views on this topic of paramount importance.

About 76th ATM 2022:

The Annual Technical Meeting (ATM 2022) will cover a wide variety of themes spanning the entire spectrum of activities related to materials that are of current interest to researchers and professionals from academia, research and industry. The ATM will provide a knowledge-sharing platform on technological advances and will promote collaborations and dialogues among professionals/ researchers so that they can utilize the mutual strengths to deliberate on challenges and opportunities. This ATM will consist of theme based parallel symposia that will be inspiring the professionals and students through career opportunities, technology trends and industry needs. The ATM 2022 will be structured around a few broad verticals, which would appropriately leverage invited & keynote lectures from leading experts in the field of metallurgical and materials engineering as well as contributory papers and poster presentations. The ATM also will host a panel discussion on “Strategic Material Security – Technological & Geopolitical Perspective” to make this Technical Meeting highly engaging. Overall, The ATM 2022 programme is sure to provide the participants an enriching experience.
